Battery China has learned that on April 13, local time in the United States, Envision AESC, the world's leading smart battery technology company, announced that it will build a new power battery super factory in Kentucky, the United States, with a planned production capacity of 30GWh and the potential to expand to 40GWh. Provide high-quality power battery products for global leading car companies.

Last month, Mercedes-Benz announced a strategic cooperation with Envision Power: Envision Power will provide high-quality, high-safety and zero-carbon power battery products for Mercedes-Benz's new generation of luxury pure electric SUV star models EQS and EQE. Announced a new power battery factory in the United States. This official announcement made it clear that the new factory will be in Kentucky.

According to Envision Power, the factory will produce the latest generation of power battery products with a 30% increase in energy density compared to existing products, which will effectively increase the cruising range of electric vehicles and have ultra-fast charging capabilities. The factory will achieve mass production in 2025, and when fully put into production, it can provide power batteries for 300,000 vehicles per year.

In addition, the super factory will rely on Envision Technology Group's zero-carbon system solutions to achieve 100% renewable energy supply and carbon-neutral operations. At the same time, through the zero-carbon smart grid technology, it will promote the local green industrial revolution and accelerate the zero-carbon transformation of Kentucky.

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear said: As the world's leading smart battery technology company, Envision Power has chosen to build a power battery super factory in Kentucky, which makes us very proud. After the completion of Envision Power's super factory in Bowling Green, it will make The total production capacity of power batteries in Kentucky has increased to 116GWh, becoming the leading power battery capacity state in the United States. Relying on a strong foundation of the automobile manufacturing industry, talent accumulation and infrastructure, Kentucky currently has the highest per capita production of cars, light trucks and SUVs. It ranks first in the United States and is also the center of the American auto industry belt.

Shōichi Matsumoto, CEO of Envision Power, said: "The establishment of a battery factory in Kentucky is a key step for us to continue to deepen our global layout and provide epoch-making power battery products for the next generation of electric vehicles. We will help the construction of the local battery ecosystem, with the same head. Automakers strategically work together to provide global electric vehicle users with higher-quality, longer cruising range, more cost-competitive, cleaner and low-carbon power battery products, and promote the green transformation of the transportation sector."

As the most international leader in power batteries, Envision Power has recently continued to reach strategic cooperation with leading car companies to help accelerate the zero-carbon transformation of global transportation: In June 2021, Envision Power has strategically cooperated with Renault of France and announced that it will build a project in Douai. The first digital and green power battery factory in France, with an annual production capacity of 24GWh by 2030 and the potential for expansion of 40GWh; in July of the same year, Envision Power and Nissan deepened strategic cooperation to build the UK's first power battery in Sunderland The super factory will have a production capacity of 25GWh by 2030, and has the potential for expansion of 35GWh. In February this year, Vision built Japan's largest power battery factory in Ibaraki.

With the planning and construction of the new factory, Envision Power has deployed 10 production bases in China, Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom and France. It is expected that its total production capacity of zero-carbon batteries will exceed 300GWh by 2025.
