The first of Fangchenggang's 100 percent electric city buses are expected to be put into service at the beginning of December this year.
According to Liao Pengfei, general manager of Fangchenggang Chaoda Bus Company, 24 new electric buses will replace the old ones on bus lines 112 and 102, to popularize new energy vehicles, protect the environment and conserve energy.
The company started to construct battery charging facilities at the Gangkou Bus Station on Oct 10. The almost completed facilities will be able to charge the batteries of 12 buses at the same time.
The environmentally friendly electric buses are not only the first in Fangchenggang, but also the first in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
